Our Story
ByStorm Software was founded in 2003 with a single focus: Windows file security. Not network security. Not endpoint detection. Not a platform that does everything adequately. File security — done properly.
Over twenty years, we've built and refined FileSure into software that protects file systems at the kernel level, works on every version of Windows across all supported Windows versions, and has been trusted by more than 200 organizations on six continents.
We're based in Magnolia, Texas. We're a small company. When you contact us, you're talking to the people who built the product.
Why We Built It
The problem we set out to solve in 2003 is the same problem we're still solving today, just with higher stakes: organizations have sensitive files, people shouldn't be accessing or modifying those files without authorization, and the tools available to prevent it are either too complex, too expensive, or simply don't work on the systems that need protection.
We've watched the enterprise security industry grow into a multi-billion dollar market full of sophisticated products that still leave critical systems exposed — because they can't run on legacy infrastructure, because they require dedicated security teams to operate, or because they catch threats after they've already done damage.
FileSure takes a different approach. Control what can happen to files before anything happens. Don't try to detect every possible threat. Just enforce the rules.
It works. We have 20 years of customers who can confirm it.
